Château du Clair de Lune****

Chateau Du Clair De Lune is a nineteenth century manor house located 4 km from the center of Biarritz, where the Atlantic Ocean opens the horizon to vertical mountains of the Pyrenean chain.
It was in 1902 that Mr. de Bonnand and Miss Harrison, now his wife, decided to settle in the Basque lands. History is marked in 1916 by the passage of Alan Seeger, famous poet and nephew of M. de Bonnand. This American, first a volunteer, was injured for defending and beloved France. He spent some time at the castle for his recovery.

The unique atmosphere of Château du Clair de Lune comes from its subtle harmony between natural colors and impressionistic lights. In the large lounge, the centerpiece of the Bastide, the enormous old stone chimney is the family meeting point. The rooms are split between the manor house and the hunting lodge. They all bear a romance name : Santolina, Melissa, Coriander, Cinnamon and Lavender for example. The decoration will suit the tastes of all, a feeling of traveling through time and the warm modernity that give you a sense of privacy.
