Belfort, Grand Hôtel du Tonneau d'Or****

The Lion of Belfort is the majestic emblem of the city. It was sculpted by Bartholdi, at the foot of the cliff of the citadel, in commemoration of the Prussian War in 1870. The Grand Hotel du Tonneau d'Or is located in the old town within 5mn of the "Lion".
Admire the neoclassical architecture of this building built in 1907 and, upon entry, you will be surprised by the double monumental stone staircase which run along a huge stained glass. Each guest room is unic, decorated in a contemporary style with gray, brown, wood parquet flooring and furnished with period style furniture recalling the history of the place.
The hotel has no restaurant, however, at cocktail hour you will enjoy the impressive lobby decor. Worth to be there.
