Golf break, Golf week-end in France, Northern France and Belgium – Golf, Hotels, Restaurants
|
On the RN 49 road linking Valenciennes and Bavay, you are guaranteed a warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Voisin to their inn, which is typical of the Avesnois region.
Classed as an estaminet (small regional café), Le Relais de Moneuse is rich in history; it served as a hideout for the infamous band of brigands operating under the bandit Joseph Antoine Moneuse, who terrorised the region during the French Revolution.
It has now become a hotspot for fans of gourmet cuisine, including the chef's famous boned and marinated quails, the house speciality, or the escalope of warm foie gras with Muscat and cramique (Flemish raisin bread), and for dessert spéculoos (Flemish gingerbread) ice cream or ‘Chique de Bavay’, .mint-flavoured hard sweets.
You can choose from a large variety of Bordeaux wines or traditional beers to accompany your meal.
Le Relais de Moneuse is 10 km from Maubeuge, 25 km from Valenciennes and Mons, and 3/4 of an hour from Lille and Brussels, and near Royal Hainaut Golf Club, Mormal Golf Club and Mont Garni Golf Club.
A smiling welcome and good food guaranteed!
