lthough the Ohlain public course in Artois offers only nine holes, it boasts two holes in particular that remain forever engraved in the memories of those who have played them. These two par-3 holes _designed by Robert Berthet_ can best be described as "acrobatic": the first on, the 4th, is uphill sloping, with a green perched some twenty metres above the tee; the second one, the 6th, is the counterpart of the 4th and, when addressing the ball, one has a magnificent view of the Ohlain fort and of the green more than 35 metres below! Two holes that are never easy to negotiate, the 6th in particular, especially when the wind begins to blow and the slopes, another of the course's specialities, contrive to aggravate matters.
Fortunately, this recreational park, which is managed by the Pas-de-Calais Regional Council, offers the opportunity to indulge in skiing during the winter and also includes a nature reserve. And the three most recent holes, the 1st, 8th and 9th, provide a good opportunity to demonstrate the full extent of one's power, whether from the foot of a hill or from the edge of a hedgerow, grove or copse that would not be particularly amusing to get lost in.
